My husband is currently training in the U.S. Air Force to be a pilot here in Enid, OK. He started in the first plane they train in this past summer and is now ready to track to the next trainer that he gets to fly. Today is track select! Track select is an all day event where we get to go out a see the planes, experience the simulators they train in and celebrate this evening with the track select ceremony where the students find out which plane they track to. The choices are T-38 fighter trainer, T-1 heavy trainer, T-44 (C-130 track), or helicopters. Everything will be revealed tonight as to who gets what!! Matt has listed T-1’s as his first choice. After track select they will begin training in their new aircraft for 6 months. In June of 2011 there will be a similar evening called assignment night where we will find out what plane Matt will career to and where our next assignment will be located!
I am excited to share all of life’s adventures in the Air Force with you! We are loving it so far! Even though the training can be stressful and we are always far away from family, we wouldn’t trade this adventure for anything! Below is a picture of Matt and I in front of the T-6 that he has been training in for the last 5 months.
