Quebec City and Montreal Canada Family Traveling
I still can’t believe this trip even happened! We had been talking about getting to Montreal for a while now and since our time in Jersey is quickly coming to an end we needed to fit it in. We also knew that it gets SUPER cold in Montreal so if we were going to go to Canada it had to happen soon!
Since our favorite thing to do on vacation is find the best places to eat we knew we had to visit Montreal after watching an episode of Bizarre Foods (we also loved how Andrew was sporting a Goldy Gopher winter hat). My husband had his heart set on going to a sugar shack or cabane à sucre as they say in French, but since we couldn’t arrange our trip around the maple season we had to miss out on this fun activity! Lucky for us we found some maple syrup on snow and gave it a try!
As we were planning the trip we were hearing more and more about Quebec City which is further north of Montreal. I was opposed to the idea at first since we already had A LOT of driving planned. I figured we would have plenty to do in Montreal and we would feel too rushed trying to fit in both cities. But that’s how we roll…and roll with it we did.
We drove straight from Jersey to Quebec City and spent one night there. We had about 1.5 days to fit in the old city, Montmorency Falls, and the surrounding area. We LOVED walking through old city (upper and lower). It was such a cute little village! One of the best places we ate was La Pizzaio. Their pizza crust is crisped mozzarella cheese and like nothing I’ve ever had before. The next morning Matt surprised me at our apartment with coffee and the most delicious croissants. After visiting Quebec City I was SO SO SO glad we did! I would have loved to stay there longer if we could!
We arrived in Montreal later on our second travel day and stopped for some food at Gibeau Orange Julep (the best orange (julius) drinks ever)!! The next day we had St-Viateur Bagels for breakfast, crepes at Chez Suzette, smoked meat at Schwartz’s Deli, poutine at La Banquise and macaroons at Point G (when in French Canada)! When can I go back?!

Isn’t Quebec and Montreal just the loveliest? It’s even prettier in the snow during winter. We used to go there for March break in high school and it was always so charming and lovely. Your photos are stunning!
