Minnesota Backyard Family Session

This family is near and dear to my heart as Krista and I go way back. Like middle school, finding out we dated the same guy, neighborhood bon fires, awkward school dances, playing rugby, getting married, and having kids way back. You might recognize her from my instagram feed as we also share a passion for photography and work together more than we should given we live thousands of miles apart! It’s what happens when long distance doesn’t burn out a friendship.

Over the summer I enjoyed visiting her country home way out in the boonies. Crazy to think where we all ended up. But for her I’m not surprised. You know exactly who’s home you are at when you see her sweet porch with string lighting and many antique picks all placed together perfectly unperfect. In the backyard just before the woods is a chicken coop with crazy chicks and ducks that are more like family. She is the perfect mix of mason jar wine glass redneck and country hipster chic. Her home was the perfect location for their backyard family session.

As always I am privileged to step inside a family’s home or backyard and document them just the way they are. And I did this many times in 2014.
