You might recognize this couple from their Minnesota summer engagement session on Lake Byllesby. After Kristina and Joe’s Big Sky, Montana engagement they continued the country tradition by holding a Mayowood Stone Barn wedding! The romantic, rustic feeling was carried on throughout the day beginning as the ladies got ready in the bridal room barn while the men were in the trophy room, a nod to Joe’s love for hunting.
The guests were greeted with long beautiful strands of garland leading up to an overgrown ceremony tree with a handmade cross under it. Many handmade wood pieces such as the cross, the unity table and later the head table were all made by the groom and family. Check out Beams and Boards Woodshop for local Minnesota handcrafted heirlooms. Following their outdoor ceremony the bride and groom celebrated with guests in the historic barn. Long wood farm tables were covered with the repurposed garland, bright colored dahlias, and blush garden roses in gold vases. The paper designed by Kristina featured an antler motif which was also carried out in the centerpieces.
Before the party really got started, we ended the evening with a walk over to the open fields and were graced with one of the most gorgeous sunsets. These romantic moments were a magical ending the their beautiful day! Be sure to watch for The Knot Minnesota Fall/Winter edition where their wedding will be featured in print!
