Lauren + Jaes | Styled Session

Jaes and Lauren are a military couple here at Vance going through the busy life of pilot training! I was lucky to get to spend a Sunday with them out on a nearby farm. Lauren wanted to do a vintage theme since that fit both their personalities. We stuck with a more modern feel instead of the whimsical vintage a lot of photographers are doing. Since Jaes is in the military I thought incorporating hand-written love letters would tie in nicely. Don’t you just think of old war times when the couple writes letters to each other while the brave soldier is out fighting for our country? Swoon!

I was so excited to find the perfect spot! We headed out to a friends local farm. I hunted for the best lighting and loved this field. So we went through the gate. Yes!

Put the basket down here and I’ll take some pictures! Now hold the basket and his hand! Look at each other. Laugh!

Little did I know coming up behind me was not one but three big cows! Actually two cows and a black bull! Okay cows doesn’t sound that scary, but really they were huge and looked like they wanted to charge us! They came running up to use like they were going to stomp us into the ground! As I started to take off I realized that would only make things worse. I stood still, heart racing a million miles an hour! They were interested in my camera bag, on the ground, full of equipment! ah! Good thing we had brave Jaes who came to the rescue and slowly collected all our stuff and we tip-toed away as to not make any enemies with the bull.

After catching our breath and trying to reevaluated the location we found someone who lived there! Oh that bull, he won’t hurt anyone. Oh yeh right! So he took us back into the field, away from the bull, away from my favorite spot, but that was okay. Because way back in the field were two old rusty pickup trucks! Perfect! Vintage pickups! I knew everything would turn out great.

I had a blast on this photoshoot! We all laughed so much and even have some stories to tell.
