“I don’t think I’m in Enid anymore!” At least that is how I felt when I drove up to the serene Groendyke Lodge. With brightly colored fall leaves and a lake in the back I had to work hard to realize I was still in Enid! As with the wedding couple, the Groendyke was another dream to photograph! Since I am from Minnesota (Land of 10,000 Lakes) where the fall burns with reds, oranges, and yellows, I was disappointed at what Enid had to offer for beautiful fall colors. I will have to remind myself next fall to head north of town for a little taste of what fall really is!
Amanda of Planned 2 Perfection had custom, deep purple, linens brought in that made a dramatic effect and added elegance to the wood paneled room. Large floral arrangements of greens and purples centered each table along with small pillar candles and sweet little gift boxes for each guest to take home. The lower level allowed guest to enjoy the open space but not be left out of the events happening in the dining area. Outside there was a patio with white wood chairs to sit and enjoy the lake view with a fall sunset. The evening included dinner, toasts, and dancing. The bride and groom surprised everyone with personal bar-tending service in lieu of the dollar dance to raise a little cash for their honeymoon. It was a first for me to see and I thought as long as the bride wasn’t serving red wine it was a great idea!
Enjoy part two but if you missed part one view it HERE!
