I have been wanting to share this lovely session for a very very long time! Why didn’t I? I just got busy with stuff… I hate that! I totally let this beautiful session of dear friends get left to sit in a folder on my computer and never shared all it’s goodness! Well I couldn’t let myself keep it hidden away any longer! I pulled some of my few favorites from this session so I could get it posted! You might remember Mary and Devin’s wedding at McMenamin’s last summer.
The best part about this session was not that it was at a beautiful park in Portland, OR or that the bride wore a gorgeous tea length dress while the groom looked dapper in a gray vest and plaid tie. Not any of that! During this session the bride let me shoot on her very own personal Rollieflex! This was only the second time in my life I had even held such a great camera. The first was when I met with Bryan from A Bryan Photo in Alabama. This was before I ever thought about shooting film in my business. I remember clearly, as he put his camera in my hands (I was so scared I might break it), saying that I would never be able to shoot on something like this! Little did I know a few years later I would be diving head first into shooting film and loving every minute of it!
Shooting film is such a huge part of what I do now and it helps me create beautiful images and set myself apart. It define me and my business. Not just in how it looks but how it makes me slow down when I shoot, allowing me to give my clients a unique, personal one-on-one session. It provides me with more time to do what matters most in life and my business.
