I have been waiting a long time to write this post and I am having trouble coming up with exactly what I want to say. Let’s start from the beginning. A year ago my husband started his lifelong career in the Air Force … I went with him. We moved from our family, our life, and our comfort. It was time to figure out how our new life was going to go. More importantly for me, how was I going to be a wedding photographer while moving from city state to state every 3 to 5 years. Not only were we making some huge life changes but it was time for some business changes! Amy Rae Photography was exiting one road and starting on another.
For the most part I thought I knew what I wanted for my business but either wasn’t sure how I would make it happen or what needed to be done.
This I knew: I wanted to photograph weddings primarily, I wanted to attract and work with clients that make photography a priority when designing their wedding budget, and I wanted my clients to get to know me and overall want to work with me first and love and appreciate my work second.
For me the first step was choosing a design company to help me design and implement a new logo and collateral pieces for my new brand. I found a company that I loved and got on their waiting list in November of 2009. I wasn’t going to be able to start working with them until May of 2010. Then Making Things Happen came along and life changed. I changed! I knew that if I was going to make my business be what I wanted it to be, I couldn’t sit around and wait until May to get started! With a heartfelt push I left Watercolor with a plan in mind and a drive and passion to make something happen. I searched for the perfect designer (thank you Minna) that I knew would be able to hear and see my vision and create something beautiful, refined, simple, and elegant. Something that said, “Hi, I’m Amy and I am a national wedding photography for people in love.”
The last 12 months have been a journey of struggle, of learning, of patience, of love, and of excitement. I have seen so many wonderful friends follow their heart, push through the fear, and lead to great things. This is not the end to this journey but only a small part of the beginning. I am excited to share with you the new Amy Rae Photography!
With new branding comes an updated website, blog, facebook and twitter! Please update your links!
