There have been some new things going on in my life! It seems like time flies by so fast. I am always busy and always have something that needs to get done .. or I procrastinate! This is one of my very bad habits. My ability to time manage is not good. My priorities are not always in order. This is something that I need to work on and should be at the top of my list. I really want to and I can visualize the ideal day. Having my to do list of realistic daily goals that if accomplished I would feel good about the day’s work and be able to free myself from thinking about my list and enjoy other things not “work related.” I have greatly enjoyed my time in Oklahoma so far and being able to not go to work every day and come home exhausted. I never was excited to cook dinner, watch a movie, or spend time with my husband because I had more work waiting for me at home. The transition has not been easy and I don’t feel that I am near where I want to be as far as managing my day, but to have the freedom to do what I want and not feel tired is awesome. I have been able to take care of myself physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Soon I will go back to Nursing as a casual job not to really bring money in, but to challenge myself and to give myself a little variety. I have another little endeavor that I am thinking of pursuing that you might hear about soon!
Some recent new things in my life have been my recent travels. Living in Montgomery, AL for six weeks and traveling to Atlanta, Florida, and Memphis. Visiting family and friends. Also, making new friends! Spring came early for me this year since living in Minnesota sometimes brought snow storms up until April! I have been enjoying the warm spring, but I wish it would stay this way. I am not looking forward to a hot summer and bad storms.
Matt and I got a puppy! I had a really strong desire to get an Akita or a Shiba. There were a lot of negatives we were facing about getting either of those breeds so I prayed for the desire to go away and we would get a different breed for our first dog. Maybe after we become experienced dog owners we can try one of those breeds. So at midnight the night before we went to go get our new puppy we went to a friends out to borrow a kennel. Getting out of the car we see someone walking their Shiba!!!! Crazy! I have actually never seen either of the breeds in person before and I totally wanted one! I was ready to change my mind! It was hard to resist. But I did! So the next day we drove three hours to pick up our little pup and when we made a wrong turn we had to turn around in someone’s drive way. WELL, in that drive way saw two akitas! How crazy is that. In less than 24 hours I saw both the dogs I wanted after I had prayed to just take the desire away! It was really tough to forget about these awesome dogs, but we ended up taking home a sweet little girl who we named Ally. The name is short of Aileron (an airplane part), from my pilot husband, but we don’t call her that. She is a mixed breed, german shepherd/black lab/collie/heeler. So we have no idea what she will really look like or how big she will get. She now has a bunch of doggy friends in Enid and loves to play with sticks, in her pool, dig, squeak her toys, and almost play fetch. She already knows how to sit, shake, lay down, and stay. We are working on more!
The most recent news is that since April 13th I have been back in Minnesota staying at my parents house. Matt went to Colorado to go through a basic flight school that he has to pass in order to start pilot training in June. It was sad to say goodbye the morning I had to drive to MN. I took the puppy with me since he was going to be gone! I have been sending Matt photos and video of all the “firsts” for Ally. She has more than doubled her weight since we got her and is growing up so fast! Matt should be visiting MN when he is done near the end of May and we will be driving home together June 4th. While I am here I am connecting with great friends and family, photographing weddings, and going to my cabin. It is so nice to be here where I am HOME.

Congrats on the puppy! She is adorable. So much work though. We have been dead tired for the past three weeks with Anna, but they are totally worth it. Hope you are having a great time in MN!
